Janet is a 38 year old mother of three children who lives in Ruiru. Janet was forced to leave school after finishing primary school but always had hopes of starting her own business and supporting herself and her family.
Sadly, she has faced some very challenging times - including a petrol attack by her husband which left her with significant injuries. She received counselling and other support from Macheo, funded by Kipawa, to help her to continue to care for herself and her children. Because of her injuries she was also unable to work for some time.
Janet is now doing very well in her business and makes a profit of up to 500 KES per day. She is able to restock her shop and is now able to provide for her children.
We are so proud to be able to support women like Janet to give themselves and their children a new life, but we couldn't do it without the support of our generous donors - thank you!
