http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/AbbyIngham ***IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR REGULAR DONORS TO KIPAWA ***
If you are a Kipawa donor who gives a regular donation through Virgin Money Giving, you should have had an email recently advising that you need to re-register your donation because VMG is updating its systems. This email is genuine and if you do not set up a new regular donation, your donations to Kipawa will stop. Regular donations are vitally important to our ability to plan our work and make ongoing commitments to the people we work with in Kenya. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you. If you need any more information or help with the process, please call Virgin Money Giving on 03456 09 10 46, or email theteam@virginmoneygiving.com You can re-register your donation here. ![]() Only 4 months til the LondonMarathon - still plenty of time to sponsor Abby who is running for Kipawa. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/AbbyIngham Four weeks ago we launched our Christmas Appeal to raise £2,500 to fund a new Kickstarter class at Mukuyu school. I am delighted to let you know that we have raised £3,168.75 which is well over our target and will allow us to help even more vulnerable children get back into school and kickstart their education. The Virgin Money Giving page is still open if you haven't managed to give yet, or donations can still be made into our bank account: Barclays Bank Sort Code: 20-29-23 Account Number: 3368750 Please mention “Christmas Kickstarter Appeal” in the reference. So this is what the children want to tell you. They say it so much better than we could.
On behalf of everyone at Kipawa and all the staff, pupils and families of Mukuyu School thank you for giving the gift of education this Christmas. Kipawa's Christmas Appeal this year is raising funds to support a new 'Kickstarter class' in Mukuyu School. A Kickstarter class is designed to help reintegrate kids that have missed large parts of their schooling back into the school environment. These are often the children who are least well-off and who will benefit most from the smaller class size, social work support and focussed intervention to Kickstart their education. So far, we are delighted to say we have managed to raise £2,046.25 – over 80% of the total of £2,500 needed to set up the class! Thank you so much to everyone who has contributed so far.
We know it's an expensive time of year for many of you, but please support us if you can – whatever you can give will really make a difference to the lives of all the children that get a second chance at an education. You can donate either by visiting our Virgin Money Giving Page here or by transferring funds directly to our bank account: Barclays Bank Sort Code: 20-29-23 Account Number: 3368750 Please mention “Christmas Kickstarter Appeal” in the reference. Thank you to everyone who has supported our vital work this year. ![]() Thanks to your very generous donations, we have already raised nearly 40% of our Christmas Appeal fundraising target! We are very grateful, but there's still a way to go. This year we are raising money to open a Kickstarter class in Mukuyu School. A kickstarter class is designed to help reintegrate kids that have missed large parts of their schooling back into the school environment. These are often the children who are least well off in the community and they will benefit from a smaller class size, focussed intervention and dedicated social worker support. Once they are ready, the children will helped to rejoin their peer group in regular classes. We need to raise at least £2,500 to get this idea off the ground. Please help these vulnerable children to Kickstart their education. You can donate either by visiting our Virgin Money Giving page here http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fund/KipawaChristmasKickstarter, or by transferring funds directly to Kipawa's bank account. Thank you, once again, for your support. ![]() Our newest trustee, Clare Jones, will be visiting Kenya later this month to meet with out locally-based partners and see the work that Kipawa has been funding this year. This will be Clare's first visit to Mukuya School and to Kenya and she is very excited to experience for herself the important work Kipawa is doing there. Once again, our good friend, Lindsay Given, has been collecting good quality, used, children's shoes in Richmond, Surrey and we are delighted to be taking over 300 pairs with us this year! We have also asked what other gifts we might take with us and have been told that reading books, sports and art materials and clothes for the children would be much appreciated. So, we've set up a Virgin Money Giving page specifically for this, and any donation you can make, however small or large, will be spent in Kenya to provide some of these useful supplies on our trip. The link the the donation page is below. Please contact us if you would like any more information about this trip. And watch this space for updates, photos and news from the visit. http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/fundraiser-web/fundraiser/showFundraiserProfilePage.action?userUrl=kipawavisittokenya&isTeam=true |
